Welcome to Honey Creek!
"Training Focused on the Family Dog"
Group Classes
Tired of getting pulled down the street? Is your back sore from cleaning up puppy messes? Are your friends not visiting because your dog is jumping all over them? Our family dog obedience classes are geared toward helping you teach your dog good social manners. We like to think of our training as “real-life” training where we teach practical exercises that you will need and use every day. The success of training is dependent on a benevolent leadership relationship between your and your dog, and we’ll show you positive, fun and motivating ways to work with your dog.

Jump Start Puppy Class
We’ll help get your relationship with your new puppy off to a great start with this "Puppergarten" class! Dogs have only one true socialization period and when they are in this puppy stage it is very important to promote safe, varying and positive experiences for them. Not all puppy classes are created equal - ours covers all of the necessary puppy areas during this socialization time. As with all the classes, Jessie (Certified Professional Dog Trainer-ka) will be the instructor. Designed for puppies under 5 months of age at the start of class (some older, smaller breeds may be OK), our puppy class will include some of the following:
· Puppy Raising (housetraining, crate training, mouthing, etc.)
· Beginning basic obedience
o Sit, down, come, stay, watch, leash walking, etc.
· Socialization to strangers
· Confidence building
o Puppy tunnels, small obstacles, “vet” exam
· Puppy group playtime
Our puppy class is scheduled as open enrollment (you may join at any time). The $75 fee will allow you and your puppy to attend up to 5 of the classes/sessions. Classes will be held each Monday at 6:30pm and on Saturday at 12:30pm and you may attend the days/times that fit best with your schedule, mixing & matching as you like. Registration is still required and orientation materials will be given to you at that time.
Beginning Family Obedience
Our basic manners class is a great way to continue the work you and your puppy started in Puppy Class, and is a super beginning class for a newly adopted adult dog. Dogs attending should be at least 6 months of age at the start of class. There are no pre-requisites for this class. We’ll cover such things as:
· Leadership & Deference exercises (getting your dog to look to you for cues on how to behave)
· Sit, down, stand positions
· Stay in all positions
· Recall (come) with finish
· Sit for greeting
· Loose leash walking with automatic sit
· Watch and Leave it
· And much more!!
Intermediate Family Obedience
Intermediate class is for those who wish to continue to train the beginning exercises and it acts as a great refresher for prior students. The 4 D’s of training are added to the list of obedience commands, creating a more challenging and appropriate way to proof the obedience exercises in real life scenarios. Those 4 D’s of training being:
· Distraction
· Duration
· Distance
· Delivery of Reward
Pre-requisite for class: Beginning Basic Family Obedience, or permission from instructor.
Advanced Family Obedience/CGC Prep
What better way to show the community how well behaved your dog is than to receive the Canine Good Citizen Certificate (CGC). Meant to further the intermediate skills as well as practice the items on the CGC test, our advanced class will include taking the CGC test at the end of the course. For information on what’s included in the test, please visit: www.akc.org
Private Obedience Sessions
JumpStart Puppy Consultation - $25
Our one-hour puppy consultation is designed to help puppy owners get personal coaching, including a full set of handouts, on raising their puppy. These personalized, in-depth consultations can cover all the puppy raising challenges such as:
· Housetraining, crate training, mouthing/chewing.
· Hygiene, handling/restraint, feeding, socialization.
· Overall reinforcement, behavior management and modification (stopping "stealing", jumping, etc.).
· Beginning puppy obedience.
Private Sessions - $30/hour
Private obedience sessions are often more workable solutions for a family who:
· May not be able to come to the group classes due to scheduling,
· Has a dog who is too “reactive” to other dogs or may be a bit too shy to join a group class,
· Has a few specific obedience issues they’d like to train,
· Just brought home a new puppy or dog and want immediate help getting settled in (house & crate training, mouthing & chewing issues, etc.),
· Or prefer to have a little more one-on-one attention.
The sessions themselves, and the number of sessions, can be tailored to your needs.
